Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the firm, while also maintaining a thriving individual practice within your specialized area(s) of law. This position requires exceptional legal acumen, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to client satisfaction, teamwork, and business development. You will contribute to the overall success of the firm by generating new business, mentoring junior attorneys, and participating in firm governance and decision-making processes.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Representation & Business Development

  • Provide exceptional legal representation to clients, managing complex cases and transactions efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, actively engaging in networking, marketing, and proposal writing to attract and retain clients.

2. Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys, associates, and paralegals in their professional development, providing guidance on legal matters and career advancement.
  • Collaborate with other partners and team members to foster a positive and productive work environment.

3. Firm Governance & Strategy

  • Participate in firm-wide strategic planning, setting goals and objectives for the firm's growth and development.
  • Contribute to decision-making processes related to firm policies, budgets, hiring, promotions, and other key areas of firm management.

4. Financial Management

  • Achieve and exceed personal financial targets for billable hours, revenue generation, and collections.
  • Monitor and manage the financial performance of your practice area, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  • Contribute to the overall financial health of the firm through active participation in budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.

Skills and Experiences Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction and in good standing with the relevant bar association.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an attorney, with a proven track record of success in client representation and business development.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and oral. Proficiency in Chinese is preferred in order to communicate with China HQ and Chinese client.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and business partners.
  • Commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and client-centred service.
