Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is recruitinga Research Fellow specialising in the field of digital health andhealth education in Professor Jennifer Cleland's group. LKCMedicineis a joint medical school between Nanyang Technological University(NTU) and Imperial College London.

As a ResearchFellow, you will play a pivotal role bringing expertise in digitalhealth and health education, working closely under the guidance ofProfessor Cleland. The role involves providing crucial support toProfessor Cleland, who leads the World Health OrganizationCollaborating Center (WHOCC) for Digital Health and HealthEducation. The role will involve conducting evidence synthesisusing various methods (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods)for systematic reviews. The applicant will collaborate with amultidisciplinary team of systematic reviewers to evaluate evidenceon digital health and health education topics. The impact of yourcontribution will directly contribute to the field of digitalhealth and health education at the regional and internationalplatforms.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Perform extensivereview for various types of deliverables (e.g., policy briefs,white papers, background papers, technical briefs, researchprotocols, peer-reviewed publications) on a wide range of digitalheath and health education policytopics.
  • Search and assess potential sources ofqualitative and quantitative data, evidence, and information thatare suitable for addressing project questions andobjectives.
  • Analyse and interpret data fromdiverse sources.
  • Simplify and communicatecomplex information from various inputs into clear and accessiblewritten materials for differentaudiences.
  • Prepare written and/or oral reportsand analyses to present findings.
  • Producehigh-quality written work products anddeliverables.
  • Organise, implement, andcoordinate activities to execute assigned tasks andprojects.
  • Coordinate project activities andlogistics with stakeholders, industry representatives, and policyprofessionals as needed to support project execution, datacollection, and/or dissemination ofresults.
  • Prepare internal briefing and ormeeting materials on assigned projects.
  • SupportPrincipal Investigator in drafting presentations, speaking points,and visualisation aids.
  • Foster strong andsupportive working relationships across the project team(s) andCentre.


Key Competenciesand Requirements:
  • PhD in HealthPolicy, Public Health, Public Administration, Epidemiology,Nursing, Biostatistics, Social Sciences or a relateddiscipline.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology,evidence-based medicine and the utilisation of epidemiologicprinciples in guideline formulation.
  • Backgroundin crafting and executing diverse types of evidence synthesis,encompassing scoping reviews, systematic reviews, integrativereviews, etc.
  • Proven track record inpeer-reviewed publications, with experience as lead/firstauthor.
  • Demonstrated success of projectimplementation and management.
  • Experience inresearch grant application, grant reporting, and researchagreements management.
  • Experience insupervising for junior researchers and/orstudents.
  • Strong ability to integrate knowledgefrom diverse disciplines for comprehensive evidencesynthesis.
  • Effective verbal and writtencommunication skills, especially in translating complex findingsfor varied audiences.
  • Organised,detail-oriented, meticulous, and proficient in handlingdata.
  • Responsible and takes ownership ofassigned tasks.
  • Proficient in ensuringadherence to institutional guidelines, policies and regulatoryrequirements throughout projectlifecycle.
  • Highly motivated and able to workindependently, as well as collaboratively in a diverse andinterdisciplinary team.
  • Effective computer andtechnology literacy.
  • A willingness to take newprojects as theyarise.
