Run by Chef/Owner Dave Pynt, Burnt Ends has established itself as one of Asia’s most exciting places to dine. It is a modern Australian-style barbecue restaurant which offers counter seats and an open kitchen. Burnt Ends writes new menus daily and believes that there is magic that comes from cooking with wood.


We are looking for skilled, creative Bakers who strive to provide excellent baked items and service in an efficient, professional manner. The Baker will design, execute, and improve recipes, perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance item presentation, and process orders from customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and bake all bakery items for the menu and catered events following standardised recipes.
  • Estimate baking needs, requisition adequate supplies, inventories supplies and keep record of products prepared and used
  • Use weights and measures to adjust ingredients in recipes
  • Ensure bakery and equipment are maintained according to proper health and sanitation standards
  • Do specialised decorating
  • Assist in developing and testing recipes
  • Assist in planning the bakery menu
  • Supervise bakery personnel; duties include planning, organising, scheduling and directing work, training personnel, and recommending applicants for employment
  • Recommend equipment purchases
  • Liaise daily with outlet Chefs to keep open lines of communication regarding guest feedback
  • Complete daily checks of all mis en place to ensure freshness and quality standards
  • Monitor stock movement and be responsible for ordering on your section
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow the company and kitchen policies, procedures and service standards as per applicable
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • To be flexible and willing to help the restaurant kitchen at busy times if required
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Good communications skills
  • Experience in using kitchen equipment
  • Understanding of health and safety, and basic food hygiene practices
  • Able to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Punctual and well disciplined
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
