RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of student leaders in student Clubs
    • Oversee, mentor and guide student leaders in club governance, finance, safety and branding of student clubs.
  • Discover and nurture student leaders through out-of-the-classroom programmes / events / activities
    • Mentor and facilitate the delivery of the SMU Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs) at a personal and group level through the events and activities organized by student clubs.
    • Assist in the coordination, formulation and periodic review towards the delivery of SMU GLOs through appropriate student leadership developmental programmes with internal offices and external agencies/organizations.
  • Management of key events
    • Assist in the design and delivery of student leadership training programmes.
    • Assist in the conceptualization, operations and technical aspects of student-led events.
    • Guide and support student leaders in risk assessment in collaboration with the SMU Office of Safety and Security.
  • Contribute to the efficient operations and reputation of the Student Leadership Team
    • ontribute relevant expertise and experience to the Team's aggregate competencies in Student Leadership development.
    • Coordinate programmes/events/activities budget at the Team level.
    • Manage Team's administrative functions as assigned.
    • Manage working relationships with other units, offices and external parties to the highest degree of professionalism.
    • Maintain and upgrade industry/specialist knowledge and skills to enable self and Team to be at the forefront of Student Leadership.
    • Any other duties assigned by Head, Sports and Student Leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A university degree in any field.
  • Experience in managing large scale student events and facilitation skills will be a key advantage.
  • Experience working in collaborative projects.
  • Self-motivated with strong inter-personal and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to conduct training programmes e.g. basic facilitation and leadership development skills.
  • Possess strong organizing, coordinating and administrative capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to guide, influence and be assertive where necessary.
  • Meticulous and able to meet short deadlines effectively.
  • Experienced in managing student events.
  • Experienced in coaching and mentoring students.
  • Good financial accounting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and able to be an excellent team player when called upon.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
