Roles & Responsibilities

You will be a vital part of the Nursing department in the Operating Theatre and Endoscopy, contributing to the provision of top-notch cancer care for our patients. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing safe and hassle-free operating/procedure rooms. Your role involves assisting the surgical/endoscopist team in providing patient care, surgical positioning, handling, and decontamination of endoscopic equipment. Additionally, you will be involved in the interim and terminal cleaning of the operating/endoscopy rooms, along with any other duties assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup the operating room/endo procedure room layout for surgical and procedures.
  • Assist operating theatre/endoscopy nurses to ensure all medical equipment is in working condition, functional, and operational, ready to use.
  • Assist the surgeon/procedurist in positioning the patient, applying diathermy pads, and adjusting operating theatre lights.
  • Exercise care and apply safe techniques in lifting and positioning the patient to protect from potential injury.
  • Perform daily cleaning and wipe down of basic operating theatre/endoscopy equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of Operating Theatre/Endoscopy Rooms, including disposing of linen/biohazard and general waste, etc.
  • Clean and handle intervals interim and end process terminal decontamination of the operating theatre/endoscopy, including endoscopic equipment handling and decontamination.

Job Requirements:

  • GCE N, O level, WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Operating Theatre/Sterilization), and NITEC in Health Care.
