Job Purpose
Oversee the Strategic Business Promotion and Planning (SBPP) in the APAC region, collaborating with the marketing team and set up the strategy of department.
Oversee and ensure effective departmental governance. This role involves maintaining compliance standards and monitoring profit figures to provide insights and visualize overall departmental progress and responsible for managing expenses and other operational elements to ensure the efficient functioning of the department.
Lead and drive the promotion of key strategic initiatives that align with the overall goals of the bank and its regional operations. Collaborate closely with the regional head to effectively present the regional strategy to senior management. Take the initiative in identifying and advocating for important strategic items that contribute to the success and growth of the organization.
Dedicated professional to support strategic business promotion initiatives across various countries from our Singapore hub. Involves driving key promotional items and initiatives that align with the overall objectives of the bank. Work collaboratively to ensure that all efforts meet the expectations set forth by the bank's overarching strategy.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the Strategic Business Promotion and Planning (SBPP) initiatives in the APAC region, ensuring alignment with the marketing team to establish and execute departmental strategies.
- Ensure effective governance of the department by maintaining compliance standards and monitoring profit figures to provide actionable insights and visualize departmental progress.
- Manage departmental expenses and operational elements to ensure efficient functioning and optimal resource allocation.
- Lead the promotion of key strategic initiatives that align with the bank's overall goals and regional operations, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Collaborate closely with the regional head to present regional strategies effectively to senior management, ensuring clarity and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Take the initiative to identify and advocate for strategic items that contribute to the organization's growth and success, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Support strategic business promotion initiatives across various countries from the Singapore hub, ensuring that all promotional activities align with the bank's overarching objectives.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that all strategic efforts meet the expectations and standards set by the bank.
Job Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in leading and managing teams, particularly in the areas of trade finance and strategic planning.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in trade finance or related fields is required, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to evaluate departmental performance and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential for effectively delivering strategies to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, showcasing strong leadership qualities.
- Experience in developing innovative trade finance solutions specifically designed for the APAC market is essential.
- A comprehensive understanding of compliance standards, financial metrics, and departmental governance practices is required.
- Familiarity with marketing strategies and promotional initiatives that align with corporate objectives is advantageous.
- Ability to support team members in providing outstanding customer service and improving overall team performance within SMBC.
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills are necessary for delivering integrated trade finance solutions through cross-regional teamwork.
- In-depth knowledge of market trends, regulations, and guidelines impacting trade finance across various APAC countries is crucial.
- Possess robust analytical skills to perform detailed research and analysis, ensuring effective product governance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are required, with the capability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are key.
- Proficiency in English is necessary, while proficiency in Japanese is a plus for effective engagement with headquarters.
