Job Title: Logistics Manager

Job Overview:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods and materials throughout the supply chain. This role involves managing logistics operations, coordinating transportation, optimizing routes, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. The Logistics Manager ensures that all logistical processes meet company objectives, comply with industry standards, and deliver customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Operations Management: Oversee the entire logistics process, from procurement and transportation to delivery and inventory management.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate and collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and other departments to ensure a smooth flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain.
  • Transportation Management: Plan and optimize transportation routes, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners.
  • Inventory Control: Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure proper stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and optimize stock turnover.
  • Logistics Strategy Development: Develop and implement logistics strategies and policies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess logistics processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage the logistics budget, monitor expenses, and look for ways to reduce costs while maintaining quality service.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. Maintain accurate documentation, such as shipping records, invoices, and customs paperwork.
  • Supplier & Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers, suppliers, and third-party vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports to senior management on logistics performance, key metrics, and any operational challenges.
  • Customer Service: Address and resolve any logistics-related issues affecting customers, including delays, product shortages, or delivery discrepancies.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage logistics team members, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of efficiency and motivation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar logistics or supply chain role
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain management, and transportation
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience with logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements related to logistics and transportation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and international shipping (if applicable)
