Singapore National University Polyclinics Full time

Institution: National University Hospital

Do you have excellent (or emerging) clinical diagnostic and interpersonal skills?

Are you motivated to achieve great outcomes for Podiatry patients in Singapore?

If so, then come and join our team.

An excellent opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated podiatrist to join our committed and progressive Podiatry team. We have a position available for an AH12 or AH13 Podiatrist.

Excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills are essential. New graduates will rotate through all sub-specialties of Podiatry, providing input into various multidisciplinary teams and managing a variety of foot problems arising from Diabetes, Vascular, Rheumatological, Dermatological, and Musculoskeletal conditions. Training will be given, and an assigned mentor will guide you through a six-month competency development programme.

You will be able to demonstrate empathy, resilience, a methodical approach, and an aptitude for problem-solving using your own initiative.

You will assist in the triage of urgent and high-risk referrals from hospital-based Medical and Surgical teams as well as referrals from community-based medical practitioners.

You will also be involved in nail surgery, prevention clinics, and mentoring students. There will be opportunities for specialist training in shockwave therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, compression bandaging, maggot debridement therapy, and ultrasonic debridement therapy.

Part of the role will be providing input into the education of other healthcare professionals on the high-risk foot and other foot conditions.

You will be expected to take an active part in Professional Development and Clinical Supervision, developing yourself along with others in the team, including students. The role is based within National University Hospital, which is in the Western Cluster of Singapore.

The Challenges

  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive and collaborative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
