As a Technical Program Manager atGoogle, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex,multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work withstakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage projectschedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partnersacross the company. You're equally comfortable explaining yourteam's analyses and recommendations to executives as you arediscussing the technical tradeoffs in product development withengineers.

As a Technical ProgramManager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineeringprojects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirementswith internal customers and usher projects through the entireproject lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules,identifying risks and clearly communicating them to projectstakeholders. You are equally at home explaining your team'sanalysis and recommendations to executives as you are discussingthe technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manageprojects of various size and scope, identifying futureopportunities, improving processes and driving the technicaldirections of yourprograms.

Jobresponsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal business and cross-functionalnetworking technical teams to identify and define tacticalinitiatives necessary to meet Google's network infrastructure needsfor both expansion and cost optimization across Asia.
  • Present network plans for approval by all internalstakeholders. Plan complexity will range from short-term metroaugments to long-term region-wide strategies for Google network inAsia.
  • Manage the approved network plan withinternal contributors, such as network negotiators or vendordelivery managers to ensure infrastructure is deliveredon-time.
  • Partner with cross-functional teamsto define and improve business processes to enable automation,reduce lead time and manage changes.
  • Partnerwith network negotiators in planning and execution of orders andcontracts, and in vendors meetings and industryconferences.

Minimumqualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practicalexperience.
  • 5 years of experience in programmanagement.
  • Experience with networking,optical technologies, and outside plant or layer one networkdesign.

Preferredqualifications

  • Experience in navigating ambiguity and identifyingopportunities for optimization whilst possessing investigative andproblem-solving skills.
  • Experience in programmanagement within the networking area, focusing on deliveringinfrastructure assets and managing vendors.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic systems. Understanding of Asianand global carrier networks.
  • Ability toexercise business and technical understanding to drive thelong-term objectives of the organization.
  • Excellent problem solving and financial skills with theability to adopt data-driven, analytical approaches towards solvingcomplex challenges.
  • Excellent communicationskills and collaboration with a diverse range of people and jobfunctions.
