Roles & Responsibilities

The Production Coordinator cum Designer will be responsible for managing production schedules, coordinating between pre production and production teams across Singapore and Malaysia, ensuring that project milestones are met while also contributing to the design and creative aspects of the animation process during idle periods. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and proficient in both production coordination and design software.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Coordination

  • Assist in planning and managing production schedules, ensuring timelines are met.
  • Coordinate with directors, producers, and department leads to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of assets.
  • Track progress and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production, providing solutions to keep projects on track.

2. Resource Management

  • Manage resources effectively, including talent, equipment, and software, to meet production needs.
  • Monitor and manage team workloads, ensuring a balanced distribution of tasks.
  • Liaise with external vendors and freelancers to secure additional resources when necessary.

3. Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between various departments, facilitating clear and efficient communication.
  • Conduct regular meetings within deaprtments to review task status, address concerns, and update management.
  • Prepare detailed production reports to senior management.
  • Liaise with external vendors and freelancers on deliverables.

4. Quality Control

  • Ensure all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and adhere to project specifications.
  • ollaborate with the quality assurance team to implement feedback and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all production processes and decisions.

5. Budget Management

  • Monitor expenditures and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Identify and report cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

6. Leadership

  • Mentor and support junior production coordinators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Report any team issues or conflicts promptly.

7. Design

  • Assist in the creation of concept art, 3D assets, textures, or motion graphics as needed.
  • Provide creative input and support designers and animators in the visualization of scenes.
  • Ensure that all design work adheres to the project's artistic direction and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the art and animation team to refine assets and maintain consistency in style.
  • Work on layouts, color scripts, and visual elements to enhance storytelling.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Animation, Design, Film Production, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in production coordination or design within the animation, film, or creative industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills, including concept art, 3D assets, or motion graphics.
  • Familiarity with animation pipelines and coordinating between different departments.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in production tracking software ShotGrid and Google sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of design and animation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Blender, Maya, or equivalent software.
  • Understanding of animation workflows, asset management, and production scheduling.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, resource allocation, and financial constraints in production.

Soft Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to troubleshoot production issues proactively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate effectively across teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills to mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment.
