(AVP) Trade Product Manager, Global Transaction Banking

What you do
- The candidate will be responsible for revenue contributed from network bankers guarantee and standby letters of credit initiatives across our 13 franchise locations, and revenue contributed from our local mass market segment for Bank Guarantees and Documentary Letter of Credit.
- The candidate will drive the end-to-end revenue growth strategy related to network guarantees and letters of credit from ideation, product solutioning, propositions in consultation with legal and compliance , execution and commercialisation plans across our OCBC franchise location. Lead engagement with product, sales, operation and other internal stakeholders across the network to identify growth opportunities and ensure successful implementation of product strategies
- The candidate will manage and monitor product performance of the Bank's Cash Backed Bank Guarantee portfolio such as revenue, risk, customer service, digital channels and cost efficiency including providing trade advisory solutioning to the mass market business segment clientele by working through frontline customer service teams
- Candidate will need to be proficient and work independently in driving product related initiatives to drive utilisation, digital adoption through electronic channels, chatbot and work on marketing and promotional campaigns
- Candidate must be confident to engage external stakeholders including at industry wide forums to understand industry led requirements. Lead engagements with internal stakeholders towards building capabilities to exceed customers' expectations including using Application Programming Interface.
Qualifications
Who you are
- At least 6-7 years' experience in Trade Finance arena (Bankers Guarantee, Standby Letter of Credit, Documentary Trade), with knowledge of product associated risks which include legal, compliance, credit, operation.
- Have a sound working knowledge of Bankers Guarantee and Standby Letters of Credits, and its usage in facilitating international cross border trade and be familiar with domestic industrywide practices.
- Fundamental knowledge of Import Letters of Credit and its entire trade cycle and related products such as Inwards Bills under Letters of Credit, Trust Receipt, Own Acceptance Discounting and Shipping Guarantee.
- Possessing qualifications such as Certified Specialist in Demand Guarantee (CSDG) and Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) will be an advantage.
- Be proficient with Microsoft powerpoint and excel, to use as a tool to facilitate effective product development and product launches and communications
- Good command of English Language and be able to comprehend legal terms, concepts and understand risk associated. Ability to converse in Mandarin will be an advantage as the role entails liaising with banks & clients in China.
- Experience in Product Management role is preferred, with emphasis on product solutioning, new product development and commercialisation
- Business orientated, enterprising and inquisitive in new way of doing things
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills to promote capabilities to internal stakeholders and external partners/customers. Multi-geography exposure is a plus.
- Team player and willing to share knowledge
You will be reporting to the Head of Product (Guarantees & Letters of Credit) under Global Trade Finance within Global Transaction Banking division. You will be part of a dynamic team with a combined total of 34 years in trade experience with deep knowledge and execution skills.
