Job Purpose

We are looking for a hands-on and self-driven individual responsible investment-related accounting and reporting with Investment Accounting team within Group Finance - Investment Reporting, Analytics & Systems.

Job Description

Accounting & Reporting
• Prepare monthly accounting entries for all portfolios and entities in accordance to the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and ensure smooth and accurate month-end closing;
• Provide oversight and validation to investment assets' valuation and formulate valuation models for derivatives;
• Support the Group's IFRS 9 activities and initiatives including Solely Payments of Principal and Interest (SPPI) and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) review;
• Prepare monthly transactions and month-end position file of self-managed investments held in all portfolios for upload into the investment database and ensure accurate capture of transactions as part of database maintenance;
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports after month-end close for submission to shareholder, as part of the OCBC Group;
• Assist with queries from internal finance functions as part of management reporting, and statutory & regulatory requirements;
• Assist with projects that the Investment Accounting embarks on due to updates in accounting standards and/or process improvement;
• Liaise and handle queries and requests from external auditors and requests on an on-going basis;
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate risks;
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies in order to understand the risks and better safeguard the Company;
• Highlights any potential concerns/risks and proactively share best practices in accounting and risk management



Job Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy or Finance or pursuing CPA certification qualification will be viewed upon favourably.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Candidates proficient with SFRS(I) 9/IFRS 9 & fund accounting will be preferred.
• Mature and independent. Capable to work under pressure and handle urgent work requirements and meet timelines.
• Good work ethics and accountable. Takes initiative to improve current processes and committed to deliver high quality work.
• Ability to multi-task and embrace change in a fast changing environment.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office and familiar with Oracle Finance. Advanced Excel & VBA skills will be advantage.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
