Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys, inspections, and testing of radio and communication equipment on board vessels, including GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations such as SOLAS, IMO, ITU, and classification society requirements.
  • Perform annual and periodical radio surveys for flag states and classification societies.
  • Test and certify VHF, MF/HF, EPIRBs, SARTs, AIS, radar, and other essential navigation and safety equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain radio and navigational equipment as needed.
  • Prepare detailed survey reports, certification documents, and recommendations based on inspection findings.
  • Advise shipowners and operators on compliance requirements and necessary corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on evolving maritime communication technologies and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure all survey activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.


Requirement

  • Minimum two years relevant experience
  • Possess a GOC License
  • Technical knowledge in GMDSS & VDR/SVDR system.
