Roles & Responsibilities

KES Thermal Oxidizer (TOX) Systems Application Engineer

A. Work on and prepare combustion solutions and customer proposals focused on THERMAL OXIDIZER systems. Primary applications in the LNG, Ref / PetChem, New Fuels & Carbon Reduction market where Customers have the need to safely dispose hazardous gas and/or liquid wastes at a high destruction efficiency.

B. Interaction with customers on a technical basis in support of proposed designs for new builds and revamps including potential troubleshooting, training / knowledge share with customers.

C. Experience and familiarity with building cost estimation models including preparing MR / Data Sheets for external vendors to build price models.

D. Familiarity with reading customers specifications with understanding the demands of process, mechanical, structural, I&E components to the overall system design. Systems knowledge with combustion systems, combustion air blowers, waste heat boilers, flue gas treatment (quench, scrubber, particulate removal, SCR / SNCR) emission & sampling (CEMS) would be preferrable.

E. In-person sales presentations and site visits aimed at identifying profitable opportunities, developing and maintaining long-term relationships with customers is a requirement. Site Visits and Site Surveys is expected to part of the requirements. Geographical area with primarily be SEA & Australia region.

F. The person should be a good communicator / organizer to involve internal stakeholders and leading handover / KOM meetings.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Qualifies opportunities as good uses of KES's limited application resources (validity of project, customer's buying history and habits, payment history of the customer, credit, project timing, funding, and scope).
  • Understanding Customer's needs and requirements to develop best solution and then prepare technical and commercial proposal
  • Working closely with internal colleagues
  • Designs systems using the design expertise/programs owned by KES and general engineering knowhow
  • Maintains and improves technical expertise for his/her given product line/s
  • Develops and maintains a long-term profitable relationship with the customers to promote KES capabilities and identifies ways to anticipate customers' needs
  • Organizes and/or participate in customer visits, business group product promotion seminars, exhibitions
  • Understanding and defining commercial constraints, such as sourcing restrictions, local content requirements, budget limits, terms & conditions, potential competitors, decision-making process.

What You Will Need:

  • Academic qualifications to the standard of Degree in chemical and/or process engineering or equivalent.
  • A relevant industrial experience, ideally with process designs/equipment, including instrumentation, controls, rotating equipment, vessels/piping.
  • Maturity, pragmatism, self-sufficiency and high team spirit are essential qualities to succeed in this fast moving, dynamic environment.
  • Prepared to travel as required.
  • Exposure and experience of standards desirable.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems is a plus.
