[What the role is]

The Head of Emerging Technology Section will be required to lead the section to ensure the safe adoption and integration of all transformative/emerging technologies, such as eVTOLs and large unmanned aircraft systems into the current aviation eco-system by spearheading concepts, policy and regulatory developments and increasing the global acceptance of our safety policies through international collaborations.

[What you will be working on]

-Lead and develop policy and regulatory framework for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) that is fit for purpose, adopting an innovative mindset and agile approach.

-Benchmark and collaborate with EASA, FAA and other leading authorities on their approach towards the regulation of AAM operations.
-Develop airspace management concepts and polices, regulations and process for the safe integration of emerging unmanned systems into the airspace.

-Develop strategic concept of operations for Unmanned Aircraft Traffic Management System (UTM) that will serve CAAS as the airspace control authority and WOG agencies to safely manage Unmanned Aircraft and future emerging technologies.
-Provide thought leadership and maintain mindshare on the safe adoption of emerging technologies through contribution to international forums and panels.

-Lead the development of regulatory capabilities in specific/novel areas of emerging technologies such as energy management, electric propulsion, integrated flight controls and connectivity.

[What we are looking for]

-Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Policy, Public Administration, International Relations and at least 3 years of experience in engineering and/or policy domains.
-Excellent verbal, written, communication skills.
-Leadership ability to motivate and direct the team to achieve organisational mission.
-Self-motivated, resourceful and possess strong analytical abilities.
-Driven and possess the ability to set high standards and organise a high performing team.
-Able to think under stress and is driven and motivated to push boundaries and encourage innovation.

Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
