Job Description

Practical Lesson Preparation

Assist teacher in the preparation of ingredients prior to the start of the practical lessons.

Assist teacher in placing order for foodstuff and ingredients

Assist in the setting up and cleaning of food lab equipment and utensils

Stock Check

Replace broken glassware from stock and be responsible for all equipment used in the teaching of Food & Consumer Education / Nutrition Food Science Practical Lessons.

Keep a stock book / excel stock sheet and breakage record to indicate necessary replacements

Prepare an inventory of stocks annually for the annual stock take exercise

Cleaning and Maintenance

Maintain and upkeep food lab equipment including stoves, ovens and other cooking equipment

Responsible for the general cleanliness and safety of the food lab

Student Supervision

Supervise students in the food lab during the absence of the teacher (e.g. emergency toilet break)

Admin Duties

Ensure goods delivered are as per order

Help to keep notice board up to date (Use Microsoft word to create new signs and labels)

During School holidays and curriculum downtime, the personnel may be asked to help out with any other duties as and when assigned.

In the event of downtime during the FCE curriculum, The Food Lab

Technician will be deployed to assist in the General Office or any other

areas required.
