Job Description


Role Objective


Support Chubb Life Global Pricing Actuary and Head of Reinsurance in two key areas:

  • Reviewing product development, pricing, and business strategy across all Chubb Life markets.
  • Managing reinsurance portfolio across all Chubb Life markets, including analyzing reinsurance placements, drafts, claims referral, and profitability.

This role involves collaboration with various Local and Global teams to ensure product development and pricing align with guidelines and governance.


Responsibilities


Product Pricing

  • Review new product development and actuarial pricing, conducting risk assessments as needed.
  • Ensure product pricings align with assumptions, Global guidelines, and underwriting processes.
  • Provide pricing support for distribution deals, partnerships, and business development.
  • Identify gaps in product review processes and enhance pricing methods.
  • Conduct pricing analysis to identify risks and challenges in key markets.
  • Develop tools for product pricing and monitoring.
  • Track and follow-up on pending product approvals.
  • Participate in Product Approvals meetings.

Reinsurance

  • Support reinsurance placements review and provide guidance to Local teams.
  • Enhance reinsurance buying guidelines, approval processes, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with Legal and Local teams for reinsurance drafts review and implementation.
  • Review large claims with Claims and Local teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor reinsurance profitability and analyze reinsurance P&L.
  • Track and follow-up on pending reinsurance approvals.
  • Participate in Reinsurance Approvals meetings.

Pricing & Reinsurance Projects, Product Development, and Business Strategy

  • Support internal pricing and reinsurance projects, collaborating with teams for successful project delivery.
  • Monitor business plan execution focusing on product/pricing/reinsurance aspects.
  • Collaborate for business strategy and product pipeline development.
  • Support product and reinsurance strategy development and execution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience in life insurance (pricing, reinsurance, analytics).
  • Familiarity with regulatory landscapes in Asia-Pacific.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing reinsurance agreements.
  • Knowledge of reporting regimes like U.S. GAAP, IFRS17 is advantageous.
  • Strong modeling skills in MS Excel, familiarity with Prophet software, and programming languages.
  • Multilingual proficiency is a plus.
