  • Knowledge in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public policy in contemporary China and experience with multimedia course materials.

Teaching Schedule:

Duration: 3 hours per week for 13 sessions.

Course Objectives:

  • Students will learn to analyze the process of formulating, implementing, and evaluating public policies in contemporary China.
  • Discuss and evaluate examples from various policy areas such as Economic and fiscal policy, industrial policy, social welfare policy, population policy, science, and technology policy, agriculture policy, and environment policy.

Teaching Outcome:

  • Students will be able to examine the key political variables influencing policy making and administrative reform in contemporary China.
