Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Part Time Lecturer to join our team at the School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing multiple courses at the undergraduate level, including introductory level survey-type courses, laboratory and methods courses, and seminar courses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and discussion sections, as well as setting assessment components and marking examinations.
  • Supervision and Coordination: The candidate will supervise and coordinate teaching assistants and tutors, ensuring effective support for students.
  • Course Development: The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the development of multiple courses at the undergraduate level, including introductory level survey-type courses, laboratory and methods courses, and seminar courses.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Higher Degree: The successful candidate will hold a doctorate-level or a masters-level qualification in an appropriate Psychological field, with a strong background in teaching and training of undergraduate students.
  • Teaching Experience: The candidate will have experience and interest in teaching undergraduate psychology students, with a strong and demonstrable commitment to the organization and delivery of teaching, particularly in one or more areas of Personality Psychology, I/O Psychology, Bio-psychology and/or Clinical Psychology.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills relevant to teaching and pastoral care.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: The candidate will be willing and able to contribute to the overall objectives of the Programme and School, working collaboratively with others.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
  • Research Experience: A developing track record of research (e.g. peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations) in Personality Psychology, I/O Psychology, Bio-psychology and/or Clinical Psychology.
  • Academic Administration: Experience of academic administration, including course coordination and curriculum development.
