Duties

The duties and responsibilities for a Grants Policy Analyst generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
in support of the offices mission and vision.

Keep abreast of developments and gaps in knowledge of the relevant professional fields, including adult learning and training modalities, criminal justice, law enforcement and community policing.

Serve as a resource person in contacts with other government agencies, professional organizations and associations dealing with similar substantive areas, encouraging their use of appropriate findings.

Develop and test innovative policing strategies, and provide training and technical assistance to community members, local government leaders, and all levels of law enforcement.


Requirements:

Conditions of Employment
You must be a United States Citizen or National.
You must successfully pass a security/background investigation and a drug screening.
You must be a current Federal employee within the Department of Justice on a Competitive Service appointment.
You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the position of Grants Policy Analyst, (GS , you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade.


If you are a current Department of Justice employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade.


Specialized Experience for GS-13: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as providing guidance or advice on program related issues regarding the development, dissemination and interpretation of policy and/or program results for a law enforcement organization.

You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 04/15/2024.
