Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain welding quality control plans and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections to verify welding work complies with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform nondestructive testing (NDT) methods like ultrasonic and radiographic testing on welds.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify and rectify weld defects and imperfections.
  • Review and approve welding documentation, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
  • Investigate welding defects, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Monitor welding process parameters to ensure consistency, reliability, and traceability.
  • Qualify and maintain records of welder certifications and qualifications.
  • Provide training and guidance to welding personnel on quality standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to select suitable welding materials, consumables, and techniques.
  • Stay updated with welding codes, standards, and technological advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Proficiency in nondestructive testing methods and interpretation of results.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Detailoriented with a commitment to maintaining highquality standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with weldingrelated documentation and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
