The Loss Control Engineering (LCE) department at Munich Re specializes in technical risk assessment for highly exposed single risks and offers tailored services to global clients such as underwriters, claims managers, insurance brokers, and insurers.



The Global Risk Engineering unit within LCE focuses on assessing fire and explosion risks, machinery breakdown, and industrial process hazards. Managed from Munich, this unit has engineers stationed worldwide, including the position based in Singapore within the local underwriting organization.



Your Role:

  • Advise and support underwriters in assessing insurance risks
  • Independently plan and conduct customer visits in Asia to analyze risks and protective measures
  • Evaluate survey reports based on standards
  • Engage with key clients on risk-related matters
  • Provide training and support to clients on industrial topics
  • Participate in internal communication and collaboration
  • Stay updated on industry trends to assist in forming opinions on technical issues

Your Profile:

  • Degree in engineering, with expertise in mechanical engineering, fire protection, or loss prevention
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in safety or loss prevention within manufacturing
  • Experience with assessing machinery breakdown risks in power generation is a plus
  • Previous experience as a Risk Engineer in insurance
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Team player with good organization skills
  • Proficiency in English is a must, knowledge of Asian languages is beneficial
  • Willingness to travel internationally
