ROLE DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE


We have an excellent career opportunity to join our Graduate Programme as a Stewardship analyst in our Singapore office, starting Q The Stewardship analyst will support the Head of Stewardship APAC, also based in Singapore, with stewardship activities in the region including company engagement, policy advocacy and proxy voting.


This role provides exposure to stewardship but also different expertise within the Sustainability Centre, working with the global Stewardship team, but also Asia-based members of the ESG Research and Specialist teams.

You will be able to deepen your understanding of sustainable investment and ESG, within the fast-growing Asian sustainable investment market.

More broadly, the role will provide you with better understanding of the asset management industry, thanks to your close interactions with sales, marketing and investment teams.

Based in Singapore, the graduate will work in a multi-cultural environment.

This role is a 12 months contract that could lead to a permanent position within the same team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support corporate engagements conducted by Head of Stewardship APAC and investment teams. Support includes undertaking research and analysis on specific ESG topics, helping draft presentations, corporate engagement and training strategy for investment teams. Important coordination and communication needed within the organization (ESG analysts, Stewardship and investment teams).
  • Conduct engagements with Asian companies. Engage directly with companies individually, with other colleagues of BNPP AM, and through collective engagements with other institutional investors.
  • Proxy voting activities consistent with our voting policy.
  • Participate and follow policy initiatives and implementation in Asia on sustainable finance and stewardship, including via local regulatory and industry groups, and help prepare responses to consultations.
  • Represent BNPP AM and play an active role in regional sustainability networks and organizations such as the AIGCC and ACGA.
  • Contribute to the marketing and communications of BNP Paribas Asset Management's stewardship activities in conjunction with the ESG Specialists team.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate entry level position
  • Relevant financial and academic background
  • Strong research and analytical skills, and solid team player (interaction/communication)
  • Selfmotivated and results oriented, with a proven ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team and with various stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; Fluency of Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable
  • Good command of Office suite (in particular, PowerPoint and Excel)
