Job Description

As a Citrix engineer in a financial services company, your main responsibility is to oversee and maintain the day-to-day operations of the company's Citrix Cloud and private cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, which involves user ticket resolution, business requests, and environment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Citrix Cloud and AWS hosting infrastructure.
  • Monitoring the health and performance of Citrix/AWS/Azure resources and services to detect and address any issues proactively.
  • Maintaining images with application and client updates.
  • Keeping up-to-date DR infrastructure and procedures for critical desktops and applications.
  • Collaborating with other operational teams to help troubleshoot issues impacting user experience.
  • Striking a balance between user experience and costs within the cloud.
  • Cooperating with development and DevOps teams to optimize application performance and scalability.
  • Providing support and guidance to end-users regarding best practices for Citrix users.
  • Keeping yourself certified and up-to-date with the latest Citrix technologies and features that may benefit the company.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent experience

  • Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization CCA-V (required).
  • Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization CCP-V (required).
  • Any Citrix ADC certification from ADC 13 onwards (desired).
  • Any other Citrix certification (Advantage).
  • 3+ years in a predominantly 2nd line Citrix role, 3rd line an advantage.

Additional Information

Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Virtual Desktop.
  • Experience of Citrix NetScaler/Gateway.
  • Experience of Citrix WEM.
  • Knowledge of Office 365.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools like Azure PowerShell.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and hands-on experience with cloud-based networking and security.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Citrix Director/Monitor.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms Azure and AWS (desired).
  • Collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and end-users.
