Internet Data Center (IDC) Operations Manager
Work Dyamics

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Internet Data Center (IDC) facility, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities, network operations, and security, to ensure optimal performance of the IDC.

Implement and maintain effective procedures and policies for the IDC operations, including maintenance schedules, incident management, and disaster recovery plans.

Monitor and manage the infrastructure systems, including power, cooling, networking, and security, to ensure high availability and reliability.

Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and service providers, ensuring timely resolution of issues and adherence to service level agreements.

Develop and manage the IDC budget, including forecasting expenditures, monitoring costs, and achieving cost optimization without compromising service quality.

Identify improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to enhance IDC operations, such as implementing automation, improving energy efficiency, or increasing scalability.

Ensure compliance with industry best practices, local regulations, and security standards related to data center operations.

Lead a team of IDC technicians and engineers, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure their professional growth and maintain a high-performance culture.

Regularly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IDC operations, identify trends, and present reports to senior management as needed.


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as information technology, electrical engineering, or facilities management.
Proven experience (5 years) in managing IDC operations, preferably in a large-scale data center or colocation facility.
Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure systems, including power distribution, cooling, network infrastructure, and security systems.

Familiarity with industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to data center operations, such as ISO 27001, Uptime Institute Tier Classification, and BICSI standards.

Proficiency in using data center management tools, monitoring systems, and incident management platforms, such as DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) and BMS (Building Management Systems).

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide clear guidance to technicians and engineers.
