Roles & Responsibilities

Howden Re is the world's fastest growing reinsurance broker and advisor for the global market. What we do is support on placing complex risks with various reinsurers, as well as advise clients on their reinsurance needs.

Your day-to-day will be varied: alongside your team, you will work with specific clients to place risks with reinsurers, assisting with the negotiation of effective terms to ensure client needs are best met in relation to pricing and cover, as well as participating in team meetings and client calls. You will also manage market queries and external requests as and when they come in.

What you'll do:

This job entails, but is not limited to:

· Supporting account handlers and executives with preparing and reviewing submissions and slip wordings and ensuring that information presented to the market is comprehensive and accurate

· Preparing and updating quoting and placement progress reports

· Collating and communicating client requirements to ensure appropriate marketing of the risk

· Assisting on negotiations with underwriters to place reinsurance that balances quality, coverage and price

· Creating exciting presentations and client packs

· Keeping up to date with new industry developments so that you are best-placed to support clients' needs

Who we're looking for

· You will need prior treaty reinsurance knowledge, experience in a customer-focused environment is desirable.

· Competent IT skills, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· You'll be an excellent negotiator with fantastic people skills, able to thrive in a high-pressured and constantly evolving environment

· You'll have an eye for detail and an analytical mind as well as strong decision-making skills
