Job Purpose

As a Technical Production Director, you will quickly establish yourself as a senior leader within our agile and dynamic Integrated Production team. Our inclusive team culture focuses on continuous improvement, constantly striving to flawlessly execute live events swiftly and effectively, even in ambiguous and evolving scenarios.

Reporting to the Head of Integrated Production, you will be accountable for ensuring the successful technical delivery of our portfolio of events by the Integrated Production team.

Working closely with Executive and Senior Producers, our creative and account teams, and external technical partners, you will ensure seamless technical delivery across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of the agency's largest and most complex projects, including onsite management
  • Define the technical approach and solutions for all projects
  • Oversee the technical delivery of all projects, ensuring the right technical team is assigned to each project and providing onsite support as needed
  • Collaborate and advise across projects and departments
  • Engage with senior client stakeholders in collaboration with Producers
  • Work with the Head of Integrated Production to assign skilled technical production resources to projects
  • Ensure technical production managers deliver projects on time, within budget, and with high quality
  • Build strong internal and external relationships
  • Lead the technical supply chain relationship, expanding the list as our project portfolio grows
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans for all events, ensuring technical teams adhere to safety standards and regulations
  • Enhance internal processes to improve quality and efficiency
  • Contribute actively to the agency's diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability goals

New Business Development

  • Identify innovative opportunities to support commercial growth through a production lens
  • Support pitches with technical innovation, ideation, and budgeting

Talent Management

  • Source, nurture, and develop a team of direct reports
  • Transfer knowledge to the Integrated Production team, building expertise among non-technical producers

Finance

Manage budgets for all technical aspects of assigned projects

  • Oversee technical budgets department-wide
  • Ensure clear communication of budget statuses by Technical Production managers to Project Leads

Your Background, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years in providing technical solutions for complex event projects
  • Effective and transparent communicator
  • Active listener with an open-minded approach
  • Expertise in audio-visual, lighting technologies, logistics, fabrication, materials, and print techniques
  • Strong financial acumen, numeracy, and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing budgets of various sizes
  • Extensive experience in physical and virtual event disciplines
  • Experience delivering digital, social media, or tech solutions to clients
  • Collaborative team player with enthusiasm, passion, and drive
  • Manage multiple projects effectively within deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
