About the role:


This is an important finance role in the Growth and Emerging Markets BU (GEM), reporting to the Director of FP&A GEM.

The person will support FP&A Director to lead the performance management and business planning processes and provide finance support to senior management on key commercial, business development and efficiency initiatives.

The role requires frequent interaction with the GEM leadership, the finance teams in the GEM, Global Portfolio Division (GPD) in the US and the Corporate Finance team in Japan.

The person will be part of a small collaborative Finance team based in Singapore. The role is a springboard to other exciting finance career opportunities across Takeda.

How you will contribute:

  • Organize GEM's business planning processes (Mid-Year Commitment, Mid-Range Plan, Long-Range Forecast) to deliver longterm sustainable growth and improved profitability
  • Track and analyze current business results to understand key underlying performance trends, business risks and opportunities, and use these insights to support senior management in making business decisions and driving performance
  • Support FP&A Director to drive a consistent approach and metrics for evaluating and tracking financial plans and performance across GEM businesses
  • Help deliver GEM's efficiency and margin improvement goals by preparing strong analysis tools to measure KPIs
  • Drive annual US SOX testing process by ensuring adequate documentation from brand plan / LRF, in close collaboration with GEM LRF team and accounting and controllership function. Seek continuous improvements around SOX process to strengthen compliance mindset.
  • Play the key business partner role for GEM HQ functions, manage GEM HQ budgeting process, including communication, template preparation, system support, and budget review meetings
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with GPD Finance in the US and Corporate partners in FP&A, Consolidation, and Investor Relations in Japan, to ensure full understanding and support for GEM business.
  • Play an important role within the GEM FP&A community, managing various communication channels (monthly FP&A meetings, Sharepoint, yammer, finance surveys), to build close collaboration within GEM FP&A
  • Enhance planning processes and business partnering capabilities through best practice sharing, training and reporting systems/tools development
  • Support implementation of global systems and process harmonization across GEM, while promoting culture of "unleash the power of data and digital"

What you bring to Takeda:

  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent
  • At least 810 years finance experience, within a multinational environment
  • Experience in financial planning processes (budgeting, forecasting, etc) and financial consolidation of complex market/product portfolios
  • Proficiency in US SOX and internal control framework
  • Experience in implementing/improving financial systems eg. SAP, HFM a major plus
  • Proactive, curious, with a passion for understanding the business beyond the numbers
  • Conscientious, with the flexibility to work across different time zones
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be persuasive and diplomatic, yet assertive when needed
  • Strong personal integrity and desire to work in a company with a highintegrity culture
  • Global perspective and culturally sensitive
  • Pharmaceutical experience preferred
