Singapore JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY PTE. LTD. Full time

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible to assist the executive Facilities to lead the company toward an effective entity by administrative teamwork, cost effective business practices and quality customer services.


CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the operation and preventive maintenance of facilityrelated equipment such as HVAC, M&E, fire protection system, plumbing, AV system, etc.
  • Skill in using hand and power tools.
  • Knowledgeable in M&E drawing, able to interpret respective drawings.
  • Response and troubleshoots any electrical tripping
  • Perform basic electrical installation and replacement of electrical fittings, parts, ballast, exit signs, down lights, etc.
  • Carry out corrective maintenance on M&E equipment.
  • Perform general building repair works, plumbing works, electrical works, etc. for needed.
  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
  • Coordinate and liaise well with contractors on repair and replacement work to be carried out and ensure required work is completed in accordance with agreement.
  • Liaises and coordinate with contractors for repair and preventive maintenance of facilityrelated equipment.
  • Manage external vendors on work performance.
  • Carry out regular inspection to the building and facilities.
  • Inspect and check on site that works orders have been carried out accordingly and on time.
  • Perform routine check as per checklist.
  • Attend and address all equipment problems effectively and efficiently with necessary corrective actions with minimize down time and ensure continuous improvement program.
  • Attend to complains / feedback on facilities related matters.
  • Attend to emergency breakdown of services and attempt to restore the operation.
  • Report unsafe act or workplace condition.
  • Follow safe working procedures and principles introduced at the workplace.
  • Comply and adhere to the regulatory and EHS requirement and standard such as ISO14001, OHSAS1800
  • Ensure proper completion of work order, documents and records
  • Require to carry and shift furniture for event management, classroom set up, etc.
  • Require to lock and unlock doors according to facilities schedule.
  • Require to manage assigned contractor.
  • Require to set up AV equipment for classrooms, events, etc.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties / administrative duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a NTC / NITEC in Electrical / Mechanical / Facilities Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant working experience in residential / commercial / industrial facilities maintenance.
  • Experience in performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Experience in performing handyman function, including minor and routine painting, electrical wiring and other related maintenance activities
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & BEHAVIOURS

  • Must be able to work shifts and weekends. Good standard in MS Office.
  • High level of initiative and independence.
  • Able to multitask and deliver results in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and work effectively both independently and within a team.
