The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) under the Ministry of Social and Family Development protects the dignity and safeguards the interests of vulnerable persons lacking mental capacity (P).

OPG supports the Public Guardian in carrying out her statutory duties.

What you will be working on

  • Job Overview:
You will be a member of the OPG Registry team.

The main role of the OPG Registry is to facilitate personal choice and pre-planning through the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) framework, where an individual can choose the person, they trust to make decisions on their behalf should they lose mental capacity one day.


Job Responsibilities:
You will be performing administrative duties pertaining to the Registry at the Office of Public Guardian (OPG).

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to the following aspects:

  • Execute and support operation processes to ensure timely registration of LPAs and responses to requests from Members of the Public, in accordance to the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Maintain updated records of LPA Certificate Issuers (CIs) in OPGO i.e. accredited general practitioners, lawyers and psychiatrists, and ensure updated info on OPG website and OPGO.
  • Work with call centre vendor to respond to calls from members of the public; handle call escalations to OPG.
  • Support change management and engagement efforts.
  • Support operational policy and process review.
  • Support the enhancements and maintenance of the OPG Online (OPGO) system by participating in User Acceptance Testing and solutioning.
  • Plan for and execute departmental purchases and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Collection Instruction Form (CIF) amount and review monthly reconciliation of monies collected.
  • Provide secretariat support for internal and external meetings with partners/stakeholders
