Roles & Responsibilities

  • This finance role in the Growth and Emerging Markets BU (GEM) is crucial, reporting to the Director of FP&A GEM. The individual will assist in leading performance management and business planning processes, offering financial support to senior management on key commercial, business development, and efficiency endeavors. Regular interaction with the GEM leadership, finance teams in the GEM, Global Portfolio Division (GPD) in the US, and the Corporate Finance team in Japan will be essential. This position is part of a collaborative Finance team based in Singapore and serves as a gateway to exciting finance career prospects within Takeda.
  • Organize GEM's business planning processes (Mid-Year Commitment, Mid-Range Plan, Long-Range Forecast) to drive sustainable growth and enhanced profitability in the long term.
  • Analyze current business results to identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights to senior management for informed decision-making and performance enhancement.
  • Support FP&A Director in establishing a consistent approach and metrics for assessing and monitoring financial plans and performance across GEM businesses.
  • Aid in achieving GEM's efficiency and margin improvement objectives by creating robust analysis tools for KPI measurement.
  • Lead the annual US SOX testing process by ensuring adequate documentation from brand plan / LRF, collaborating closely with GEM LRF team and accounting and controllership function, and driving continuous enhancements for better compliance.
  • Act as the primary business partner for GEM HQ functions, overseeing the GEM HQ budgeting process, including communication, template preparation, system support, and budget review meetings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with GPD Finance in the US and Corporate partners in FP&A, Consolidation, and Investor Relations in Japan to ensure comprehensive understanding and backing for GEM's business operations.
  • Play a significant role within the GEM FP&A community by managing various communication channels (monthly FP&A meetings, SharePoint, Yammer, finance surveys) to foster collaboration within GEM FP&A.
  • Enhance planning processes and business partnering capabilities through best practice sharing, training, and development of reporting systems/tools.
  • Support the implementation of global systems and process harmonization across GEM, while advocating a culture that embraces the potential of data and digital technologies.

Experience and Qualifications
  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of finance experience in a multinational setting.
  • Proficient in financial planning processes (budgeting, forecasting, etc.) and financial consolidation of intricate market/product portfolios.
  • Familiarity with US SOX and internal control framework.
  • Experience in implementing/improving financial systems such as SAP, HFM would be advantageous.
  • Proactive, inquisitive, with a keen interest in understanding the business beyond the numbers.
  • Conscientious and adaptable to working across various time zones.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be persuasive and diplomatic, yet assertive when necessary.
  • Strong personal integrity and a preference for working in an organization with a culture of high integrity.
  • Global perspective and cultural sensitivity.
  • Pharmaceutical background is desirable.
