A Singapore Exchange listed total solution engineering, procurement and construction company with investment in utilities infrastructure is looking for a Group Financial Controller:
**Group Financial Controller (GFC)
The Appointee shall provide leadership in all aspects of corporate finance functions and accounting operations.

This includes corporate finance initiates (fund raising), strategic investment (Merger & Acquisition and Concessionary infrastructure projects), overall financial management & regulatory reporting, budgetary control & forecasting, cash flow, auditing & internal controls, corporate governance & risk management, taxation, negotiation of key contracts and fostering & cultivating stakeholder relationship.


Responsibilities:

  • To assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the Listed Holding Company or Group's mission and identified strategic action plan for rapid growth, including overall management of the Corporate Finance & Accounting Operations.
  • To work with CEO/Executive Director on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.
  • To participate in developing new business and assist CEO/Executive Director in identifying new funding opportunities via capital and debt markets, merger and acquisition of synergetic businesses, the determination of financial risks & returns with established selection criteria, drafting of prospective budgets and proforma forecasts, and recommend practical and efficient management system for the prospective businesses.
  • To assist CEO/Executive Director to formulate financial risk and return assessment for the growth plans in internationalization through strategic merger and acquisition and costeffective fund raising at Holding and infrastructure portfolio levels.
  • To formulate yearly Budget of the Group that meet the goals and expectation set by the CEO / Executive Director and the Board.
  • To monitor the approved operating budget closely to control the cash flow position of the subsidiaries and the Group, which entails the full understanding of the sources and use of cash, maintaining the integrity of funds, meeting the obligation of banking facilities and other valuable assets.
  • To review, recommend policies and procedures that will enable the Subsidiary and Group to better understand, aware and manage the risks associated with legal contracts, project cost overrun, potential litigation, leases, statutory, tax obligations and financial obligations.
  • To ensure the Group's compliance in external audit, internal control, taxation, transfer pricing and other related financial matters.
  • To review, recommend and administer the established corporate governance framework, risk management process, financial planning & analysis, budgeting & forecasting, taxation, corporate secretarial and legal matters.
  • To keep abreast of the latest changes in SGX rules and inform the Board for timely deliberations and compliance, where applicable
  • To be responsible for annual budget, cost control, cash flow management and banking facilities.
  • To effectively manage and supervise the group Accounting & Finance functions & operations
  • To participate and drive adhoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years as Group Financial Controller with 4 years experienced in Corporate Finance (ie. M&A, Fund Raising, BOOT etc) in progressively responsible financial leadership roles and work experience, preferably in Public Listed Company or International Accounting Firm.
  • Ability to influence and communicate complex topics to a broad and diverse stakeholder group.
  • Mature with high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with management and employees across different cultures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines.
