Key Responsibilities:

This role is about managing the corporate communication and public relations strategy for Singlife and its subsidiaries. It reports to the Vice President, Group Corporate Communications. You will develop and implement effective communications strategies and build a positive image for the Group amongst our stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for planning, developing and executing external and internal events.

In addition, you are to work closely with colleagues in subsidiaries, marketing, and social media, to provide communications support to ensure messages are consistently, clearly and effectively communicated. You will work in a high performing team, with care and attention to detail and operationalise strategic messages and communication campaigns, to always serve the needs of the business when communications support is required.

You are required to manage internal and external communications strategies, materials and content including:

Internal Communications

  • Responsible for internal communication, to ensure that employee engagement and the Singlife culture are properly built.
  • Partner with subsidiaries on corporate initiatives and provide support for consistent and clear communications.
  • Support the communication strategy through various avenues such as livestreams, townhalls, newsletter updates, leadership emails, unified narratives and vision-setting.
  • Coordinate the right flow of information and ensure the effective flow of company updates and decisions from the Group CEO or senior management team.

External Communications: Media Management/ Relation

  • Develop strong media relationships with journalists to enhance a positive and strong brand and reputation and respond to media queries.
  • Manage and leverage a variety of media platforms and channels to communicate the Group's activities and interests.
  • Monitor negative commentaries and comments across all media platforms and come up with strategies to manage them.
  • Build capability for delivering bilingual content in the Group.
  • Be familiar with trends in the digital and online media space and on top of all earned media opportunities and platforms, developing expertise to work collaboratively with the Marketing Solutions team to promote the Groups' reputation on these channels.

Corporate Communications

  • Manage website: Work closely with relevant managers to manage all content updates for the website and other owned media.
  • CEO communications, both internal and external.
  • Senior leadership team profiling and spokespersons management. This includes: media training/SOPs, exposure opportunities.
  • Supporting all crisis communications including creating SOPs and BCPs.

Event Management for Internal and External Events

  • Develop and execute event plans, including budget, timeline, and logistics to deliver successful events.
  • Venue research and management including procurement, quality evaluations and pricing negotiations. Providing cost comparisons to the stakeholders for each venue including venue limitations or enhancements.
  • Responsible for venue contract negotiation, working with the legal team to ensure all terms and conditions are met before contract signoff.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders where required to manage company events.
  • Plan and execute quarterly townhalls.

Employer Branding/ Staff Engagement

  • Support group-wide efforts to build and promote employer brand so as to attract the best talent.
  • Build values, culture and staff engagement through internal communications channels

Awards and Accolades

  • Strategise on awards for Singlife and subsidiaries to build brand reputation in the industry. This includes researching, determining criteria and participation and coming up with winning strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a communications role, ability to work across multiple business units
  • Proficient writing and engaging messaging/ content generation skills
  • Exceptional proficiency in English
  • Ability to build and effect change - at both a people and process level
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in building relationships with senior leadership, and different business units
  • Evidence of experience in managing a comprehensive communications program to advance an organisation's mission and goals
  • Ability to influence and engage people up, down, and across the organization in order to bring about change
  • Keen attention to detail and effective event management skills including the ability to manage competing deadlines with administrative organisation and poise
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint
  • Experience in event related platforms including Cvent & slido
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-collaborative skills at all levels
  • Work well with ambiguity and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing and challenging environment
