Exciting Opportunity - Temporary Research Fellow Position at Assoc Prof Yen Choo's Lab, LKCMedicine

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow to be part of our dynamic team and contribute to a cutting-edge project. The chosen candidate will collaborate with a diverse group of scientists and engineers to develop innovative synthetic gene circuits for steering iPSC differentiation towards various cell types, including beta cells.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing synthetic gene circuits for controlling lineage in iPSCs
  • Experimenting to enhance differentiation methods aimed at producing beta cells
  • Evaluating the functionality and endurance of engineered beta cells using molecular and functional tests
  • Working with team members to incorporate synthetic gene circuits into broader regulatory systems
  • Analyzing experimental results and contributing to scientific publications and presentations
  • Staying updated on advancements in stem cell biology, gene editing technologies, and synthetic biology

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in molecular biology, bioengineering, stem cell biology, or a related discipline
  • Previous hands-on experience with fundamental molecular biology methods such as cloning, PCR, qRT-PCR, Western blots, and mammalian cell culture
  • Knowledge of stem cell culture and differentiation techniques, especially with iPSCs
  • Proficiency in multiparametric flow cytometry
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Demonstrated aptitude for independent work and innovative problem-solving
