Primary Job Function

  • Creates and implements customer education strategy while adhering to required processes.
  • Ensures training and education strategies are aligned with commercial priorities.
  • Supervises activities of customer education personnel with regard to program oversight relating to scheduling, logistics, reconciliation of the quarterly program budget, and compliance within the Legal and Regulatory requirements.
  • Supervises internal training activities, including job scopeappropriate employee new hire training, certification, periodic refresher training, and recertification with respect to planning, content delivery, and tracking.
  • Works crossfunctionally with the organization to coordinate resources to ensure that the programs have the necessary support to function.
  • Works with department management to ensure that department programs remain compliant with Abbott Corporate Guidelines and Regulatory guidelines and works to develop the team's knowledge regarding compliance and monitoring.
  • Works with department management to develop departmental policy and procedures.
  • Helps identify appropriate key development criteria and provides direct reports with development opportunities.
  • Responsible for ensuring Project Harmony gets implemented and executed across APAC.

Core Job Responsibilities
External training

  • Work closely with commercial team to establish customer training priorities.
  • Build comprehensive training curriculum for each franchise through a combination of importing existing content and developing local content based on local needs.
  • Work closely with marketing to ensure the right KOLs are involved in external training content creation and delivery via standing COEs or workshops.
  • Work with global training team to implement and monitor customer training and certification requirements.
  • Develop and maintain network of proctors in accordance with new account opening needs, geographic proximity needs, and customer language preferences.
  • Works closely with global training and geography peers to identify and import best practices in customer training content and delivery.
  • Participate in training content delivery were appropriate.
  • Audits training courses to ensure proper execution with an eye towards continuous improvement.
  • Establishes processes and monitors scheduling and logistics of training events in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Supports marketing with development of training event feedback surveys to understand perceived quality of event and suggestions for improvement.
Internal training

  • Works with global training team to ensure all standards, processes, and certification requirements are implemented across APAC.
  • Works with commercial teams to understand hiring needs to ensure timely training is part of all new hire onboarding processes by accounting for capacity, language, and travel needs.
  • Tracks training certification status for all employees based on products and job scope according to departmental policies.
  • Ensures recertification requirements are met in time.
  • Supports marketing to ensures new product launches are accompanied with the right training content and effective delivery so all applicable team members can sell and support new products in a competent manner from day one.
  • Works closely with global training and geography peers to identify and import best practices in internal training content and delivery.
Leadership and management

  • Builds bestinclass training team across the APAC region and across all franchises by ensuring all trainer tasks are delivered by competent staff who can provide a rigorous and consistent quality learning experience for all training participants.
  • Able to set a compelling training vision to support the APAC business with highly competitive internal and external skills development.
  • Able to navigate organizational matrix in a collaborative, supportive, and effective way by interacting with the APAC commercial and marketing teams, quality and compliance, global training, and geography peers.
  • Effectively articulates resource needs to execute on educational activities.
