The Credit Risk Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Requires a comprehensive understanding of risk management function including areas of regulatory compliance and reporting oversight. Strong awareness of credit due diligence, monitoring and remedial situations as also data criticality of internal and regulatory reporting. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Reasonable external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Ability to work under timelines and an eye for details. Team player.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and approve credit proposals within delegated credit authority, ensuring compliance with risk policies and standards as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Prioritize and timely review of credit requests, providing sound credit judgement in approving profitable and prudent credit exposures.
  • Take responsibility and ability to actively participate in reporting (regulatory and internal) oversight activities and work in collaboration with stakeholders so as to be able to deliver on a timely basis.
  • Maintain effective risk oversight of the borrowers to minimize credit costs and assure the risk profile remains within the Bank's credit appetite. Provide immediate attention and guidance to deteriorating credits.
  • Participate in portfolio reviews and stress tests, and to implement appropriate action plan(s). Provide regular feedback on all initiatives, tracking, reviews and reporting emerging trends and opportunities to senior management
  • Establish crossfunctional partnerships and networks to contribute to and execute cross functional and business initiatives
  • Lead and coordinate various projects (reporting) from internal initiatives originated by country, regional or global teams. Participation as members of taskforces or projects may be required.
  • Participate in internal and regulatory audits. Eye for details and ability to handle reporting assignments.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in credit risk management in the banking industry.
  • Ability to take decisions and experience with credit approving authority.
  • Sound understanding of cash, trade and derivative products. Good understanding of counterparty risk, market risk and its impact on credit decision.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and deliver results with urgency Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, analytical, presentation, facilitation, negotiation and strategic skills
  • Sound industry knowledge and their key success factors.
  • Team player with proven ability to obtain support and buyin across a wide range of internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrated work ethics and influencing skills
  • MS Office software proficiency required

Education

  • Management degree or CPAs or Masters degree would be preferred.
