Job Title:
Primary Foundation Programme Teacher (ESL)

Department/Division:

Reports to:
Primary Principal and Teacher in Charge of Foundation Programme

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide highquality English language education and facilitate smooth educational transitions while aligning with the school's mission and values.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Have experience as a homeroom teacher.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and effective communication with diverse students and parents.
  • Proficiency in using information technology and student achievement data.
  • Familiarity with Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).

Curriculum and Instructional Responsibilities:

  • Utilise data for differentiated instruction.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments in consultation with team members.
  • Maintain organized lesson plans.
  • Create an inspiring learning environment aligned with relevant IB programmes.
  • Manage classroom procedures and student behavior effectively.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure student safety and wellbeing.
  • Support the school's Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Learning Principles.
  • Participate in Child Protection training.
  • Engage in the Individual Work Plan (IWP) process.
  • Meet expectations outlined in CIS FP Teacher Job Description, CIS Teacher Standards, and CIS IB Programme Expectations for Teachers.
  • Seek feedback from parents and students.
  • Reflect individually and collaboratively on performance.
  • Contribute to school activities and community building.
  • Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and preparedness for class.

Required Qualifications:

  • Level 7 ELT qualification (e.g., MA in Applied Linguistics, DELTA, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of five years' ESL teaching experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years' ESL teaching experience.
  • Experience as a homeroom teacher.
  • Knowledge of WIDA assessment tool.
  • Preferred: Training and experience in International Baccalaureate.
