Research Associate LKCMedicine

The laboratory of Antimicrobial Resistance and Drug Development at LKC is looking for a highly self-motivated individual to join us as a Research Associate. Our lab is interested in developing new screening assays for drug discovery and early-stage antimalarial and antimicrobials.
The job responsibilities include:
Experience working with parasites (malaria) and bacteria (various human pathogens) Malaria and bacterial assay development and assay optimization for drug screening Target deconvolution in malaria and bacteria (understanding mechanisms of action and resistance) Design and conduct experiments including data collection and analysis Summarize and present the data in lab meetings Develop new research techniques and approaches Collaborative spirit with internal and external collaborators Perform maintenance of inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables Ensure safe technical practices and procedures Candidate must be willing to learn and feel comfortable working with various bacteria The candidate must be highly adaptable at working with different organisms. Candidate must be highly adaptable at working with different techniques. Assume laboratory management responsibilities including helping with grant management, budgets, safety, procurement and others.The qualifications and competencies include:
Masters Degree in Life Sciences/ Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related field At least two years working experience in research Experience working with the malaria parasite Experience working with bacteria Strong molecular biology background and expertise Excellent at team work Strong integrity Hiring Institution: LKCWe have other current jobs related to this field that you can find below
