MR Tanker Broker (CPP):

We are partnered with a leading maritime brokerage firm, tanker brokerage services. We are currently seeking a MR Tanker Broker in Singapore.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly-organised and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a MR Tanker Broker. You will play a crucial role in managing and executing tanker chartering activities.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the brokerage department, conducting market research, building and maintaining client relationships, and coordinating with various stakeholders.


Responsibilities

Conduct chartering operations:

  • Assist in negotiating and securing tanker charters based on client requirements.
  • Coordinate with shipowners, charterers, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth execution of charter agreements.
  • Monitor vessel positions, availability, and freight rates to identify suitable chartering opportunities.
  • Prepare and distribute voyage orders, fixtures, and related documentation.

Conduct market research and analysis:

  • Monitor and analyse market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and competitor activities.
  • Gather relevant industry intelligence, including market reports, vessel positions, and freight rate information.
  • Prepare market reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.

Build and maintain client relationships:

  • Identify and acquire new clients by prospecting and networking.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Foster longterm relationships with clients through regular communication and exceptional service.

Conduct logistics coordination:

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure efficient vessel and cargo handling.
  • Coordinate with port agents, shipowners, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, cargo movements, and demurrage calculations.

Conduct administrative efforts:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of charter agreements, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as required.
  • Conduct administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and organising meetings.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience as a MR tanker broker.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Solid understanding of the shipping industry, tanker markets, and chartering principles.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to gather and interpret market data.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
