Duties:

As a Lead Accounting Technician, you will perform the following duties:

  • Distributing and balancing the workload among incumbents in accordance with established work-flow or job specialization.
  • Assuring timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
  • Instructing Accounting Technicians on specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference materials and supplies.
  • Providing on the job training to new incumbents in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Answering questions of other incumbents on procedures, policies, directives.

  • You qualify for the GS08 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS07 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
  • Examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting data for governmental and commercial transactions;
  • Providing customer service in support of the functions of the organizational mission;
  • Analyzing obligations and contractual information ensuring transactions are accurate and appropriate.
