[What the role is]


The National Library, Singapore's Digital Heritage team is seeking a Librarian/Associate Librarian to lead the access and discovery of the National Library's digital collection for users and establish the National Library as a custodian of Singapore's published and documentary heritage as part of the National Library Board's Libraries and Archives Blueprint 2025 (LAB25) to build on its role as an enduring source of knowledge on Singapore and its place in the world.

[What you will be working on]
1 Reference and Information Services
1.1 Provide reference and research services to meet the information needs of users

2 Digital Content Access

2.1 Lead and develop plans to improve access, discovery, and use of the National Library's digital collection for users across NLB corporate online platforms and physical spaces including exploration of search and discovery tools.

3 National Library Webmaster
3.1 Overall webmaster for the National Library's webpages (parked under the NLB corporate website).

4 User Engagement

4.1 Lead user engagement and outreach plans and projects related to the National Library's digital collection including innovative initiatives (e.g., crowdsourcing, gamification, etc).

5 Research and Collaboration

5.1 Lead and conduct technology watch and research on access and discovery trends as well as explore collaborative opportunities with local and international national libraries, heritage institutions and communities to promote use of the National Library's digital collection for learning and mutual benefit.

6 Content Curation and Creation
6.1 Curate and create content for knowledge creation and to provide greater awareness of the National Library's digital collection.

[What we are looking for]

  • At least 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Good understanding of digital items in multiple formats, its best practices and technological trends for access and discovery
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with openness to innovate, generate ideas that create value and improve processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Strong stakeholder management and persuasion skills to work across teams, divisions, and external partners
  • Proactive, selfdriven, able to work independently and together as a team
