Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, Asia

At Sephora, we make decisions that impact the future of the omni channel beauty retail customer experience every day. Data plays a big role in that, and the Business Intelligence (BI) team enables data-driven decision-making across the business. The two functions under BI are Data Management and Analytics.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst sits in Analytics function and plays a critical role to empowering our business with automated report, interactive visualization, and in depth insights.

You will lead the effort to gather domain knowledge from different business functions, observe the gaps and opportunities from data insights and provide data-driven solution either on Domo, our corporate BI platform with 1500+ internal and external users, or via on demand insights report.


Reporting to the Asia Head of Business Intelligence, you will work closely with different business functions including Retail Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, CRM, E-Commerce, Market, and cover all Sephora Asia markets including Greater China, Southeast Asia, Oceania and South Korea.

You will also manage various business requests around reporting, visualization, insights, and data education with technical support from Data Management team.

Building high quality reports and interactive dashboards

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert of Sephora data insights
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on data transformation and visualization
  • Developing and managing Domo as the source of truth for business to get data and insights
  • Explore new functions on Domo to improve navigation and dashboard usability
  • Analyzing business requirements and processes and recommending solution to the head of department for implementation
  • Collaborating with team members for the purpose of collecting data and executing the company's mission
Building a Data-Driven Culture and improve data skills across the organization

  • Design framework and courses for users at different level of data maturity (business user, editor, developer) to improve the data savviness across the organization
  • Work with Sephora University & Domo Customer Success Manager on the delivery of the structured data education program
  • Design events and activities to award users who have successfully accomplish the training courses
  • Share data insights in analysts community
We would love to hear from you if

  • You have a passion for data and at least four years' professional experience in analyzing large datasets and translating it to actionable business insights
  • You have a relentless zeal to unearth patterns or problems in the data, and are persistent in serving our internal customers
  • You are an advanced SQL ninja
  • You are advanced in building views on a data visualization platform (eg, Tableau, Qlik, Domo, etc.)
  • You are (at least) intermediate in building models either in Python or R, or on a data science platform (eg, Dataiku, Alteryx, etc.). Some Python experience is preferred
  • You have a growth mindset: open and eager to learn/try new things, as well as the adaptability to thrive in a fastpaced, dynamic environment
  • You have experience managing projects independently and managing stakeholders' expectations
  • You have good command of spoken and written English
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree; international experience or exposure, educational or professional, is a plus
