About the Role

The L&H Innovation Manager plays a crucial role in driving innovative reinsurance propositions, focusing on insurance products and service innovations in the South East Asia (SEA) region. Collaborating closely with local client managers and cross-functional teams, the role involves creating and promoting new protection concepts to Swiss Re's reinsurance clients. A deep understanding of the life and health insurance landscape in the region, covering distribution, product development, risk management, and operations, is essential.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive Product Innovation and Product Research & Development: Collaborate with client managers, pricing, underwriting, and claims to execute new and differentiated products, solidifying Swiss Re's position as innovation leaders.
  • Accountable for the delivery of Life and Health growth targets: Grow sustainable and profitable Life and Health insurance business in SEA.
  • Develop and drive collaborated Life and Health Strategy and integrated solutions to local markets: Showcase Swiss Re's value propositions and reinforce its position as a leading reinsurer in the region.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Life and Health Innovation: Mentor client managers internally and establish thought leadership externally to engage clients.
  • Integrate Data & UW Solutions with Product Propositions: Collaborate with underwriters and cross-functional teams to strengthen Swiss Re's propositions.
  • Promote Swiss Re's Thought Leadership to influence key stakeholders: Lead thought leadership initiatives in local markets, engaging with industry stakeholders.
  • Swiss Re's Risk Appetite: Define a competitive risk appetite for life & health, aligning with market demands.

About the Team

The team is part of Life & Health Reinsurance Southeast Asia focusing on product and proposition innovation. Strong collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams ensures the delivery of unique solutions to clients.

About You

  • 5-8 years of relevant L&H experience in Asian insurance or reinsurance.
  • Experience in Life & Health Product development, with reinsurance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong technical understanding of protection products in Asia.
  • An actuarial / underwriting / data consultant background is advantageous.
  • Excellent innovator and marketer with a solid drive to meet client needs.
  • Strong collaborator with a knack for challenging the status quo.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, culturally sensitive.
  • Self-starter and resourceful individual.
  • Flexible to travel.
