About the Role

As a Senior Audit Manager in our Internal Audit team you'll bring to life Internal Audit's (IA) value proposition by supporting the bank to move at pace, safely through our enterprise-wide lens and independence to deliver what matters for our customers, the board and regulators.

You will support the General Manager Internal Audit - Institutional and the relevant Audit Directors in managing and delivering the audit program in Singapore and the broader Institutional business, supporting other divisions (as required), and in the provision of timely, relevant assurance and insights.

This role is a designated Material Risk Person (MRP) under the MAS Guidelines on Individual Accountability and Conduct (GIAC) and will assist the Senior Manager (SM) accountable for the Core Management Function(s) of Internal Audit for the ANZ Singapore Branch. This MRP role is responsible for timely escalation to SMs to assist SM's in discharging their accountabilities.

What will your day look like?

As a Senior Audit Manager, you will have Singapore Specific & Regional/Global Accountabilities that will include but not limited to:

Ensure delivery of timely and quality audit assurance, reporting of findings, messaging to the business, and managing audit teams, providing real-time coaching and feedback. Drive the IA value proposition by developing and sustaining positive and constructive relationships with key first and second line stakeholders. This includes obtaining buy-in for both the completion of reviews and implementation of subsequent recommendations to drive improvement in the business' risk and control environment. Proactively understand the business and its forward agenda – ensure adequate knowledge sharing of relevant insights, emerging risks and share this knowledge with stakeholders and the broader team. Use this knowledge to effectively challenge the business and help to ensure that we have a role in 'prevention' as well as treatment. Support the GM Internal Audit, Institutional to maintain clear and up to date insights into the ANZ Singapore risk and control environment and contribute relevant audit information to update the country risk committee, local stakeholders, external auditors and regulator. Drive effective development and performance management of IA team members, including through ongoing coaching and feedback.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Extensive experience in banking industry in an Audit, Risk or first line assurance environment. Exposure to aspects of operations, technology, transaction banking, markets or lending within an institutional banking environment. Strong understanding of risk, control and regulatory principles, frameworks and best practices in a banking environment. Excellent relationship management skills, with evidence of working effectively with, and influencing, senior executives over a sustained period of time. Ability to build strong networks and demonstrate emotional intelligence, empathy, influencing and negotiation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening, interpreting and innovative problem-solving skills. Strong track record in leading, developing and coaching teams. Familiarity with key data analytics and automation principles, tools and practices a significant plus.
