We are looking for a highly qualified, experienced anddedicated Specialist in Health and Wellbeing to join our academicteam. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching andcontributing to the development of both the health and wellbeingcurriculum, fostering interdisciplinary learning, supportingstudent engagement and course management. The role involvescollaborating with other course instructors in designing coursecontent, delivering high-quality instruction, assessing studentperformance in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field,and discharging all course-related administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

The hiredSpecialist/ Senior Specialist will have the followingresponsibilities:

  • Facilitates and conducts all teachingassignments for both the health and wellbeing domains of themodule, with a focus on interdisciplinary and collaborativelearning
  • Collaborates with the other coursespecialists to foster student learning, stimulates classdiscussions, and ensures student engagement through developing,designing and continuously improving curriculum plans, courseoutlines, evaluation procedures andinstruments
  • Designs, develops and updatescourse materials and assessments to ensure alignment with currenthealth and wellbeing trends and best practices, includingcurriculum plans, course outlines, evaluation procedures andinstruments etc
  • Manages course-relatedadministrative duties
  • Conducts assessments,including and not limited to, marking and grade entries,investigating academic integrity issues and follow-up studentsupport as needed
  • Provides guidance andfeedback to students on academic and non-academic matters,including feedback, student consultations and invigilation,etc
  • Provides regular course and studentprogress statistics for reporting and strategic decisionmaking
  • Demonstrates values and principles ofprofessional conduct in all endeavours
  • Takes onthe role of course lead coordinator whennecessary
  • Any other assignedduties

Requirements

Candidates with the following qualifications areencouraged to apply:
  • A Master's degreein a clinical or medical field such as Medicine, Public Health,Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing, Epidemiology, or related disciplinefrom a recognised institution, at the point ofappointment.
  • Demonstrated expertise with aminimum of 3 years teaching and/or professional trainingexperience, with a strong understanding of interdisciplinaryapproaches
  • Is empathetic, compassionate, andhas strong understanding of young people's mental and physicalhealth needs and challenges are necessary.
  • Is ateam player with a strong sense of collegiality and has willingnessto understand and support colleagues in theirwork.
  • Has strong group facilitation skills andpossesses excellent interpersonal and communicationskills.
  • Is self-starter who is motivated totakes initiatives and work independently while being responsibleand accountable to the larger teachingteam.
  • Those with educational researchexperiences including quantitative and qualitative methodologiesare preferred.
