Reports to: Partners – Dispute Resolution
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Analysing, collating and summarising large quantities of information
- Researching points of law and other factual issues and preparing reports on the same
- Collating and organising bundles of documents for disclosure, witness statements or exhibits
- Providing general administrative support to fee-earners including drafting, reviewing and proof-reading legal documents
- Working with the Legal teams and the in-house Practice Support
- Services team to organise and manage disclosure exercises including document management and review
- Working on various stages of disclosure exercises including collating, organising and reviewing documents for relevance and privilege
- To help with other ad hoc projects assigned by the Partners and Associates of the team.
- Develop links between European and Asian insurance and construction practices.
Key relationships: This role works closely with Partners, Associates, Trainees in the DR team.
Person Specification:
Education / Qualications / Experience:
- University graduate;
- At least two years' related working experience, preferably with a legal background and with some experience of reserve philosophies employed by insurance companies;
- Experience investigating and writing reports to insurers on liability and coverage issues;
- A sound knowledge of and experience in all aspects of dispute resolutions is preferable but not essential.
Knowledge and Technical Skills:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; and
- Good computer skills.
General Skills:
- Able to work independently and within a team;
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
- Well organized and able to prioritise and work under a tight schedule;
