Job Overview:

CFS is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join as an Assistant Director in an important and exciting role that offers hands-on opportunities to develop, implement and manage bespoke philanthropic advisory solutions and collective giving programmes. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about advancing strategic philanthropy.

The candidate will lead the Philanthropy Solutions, and provide knowledge and innovative programme solutions to the philanthropy advisors managing sophisticated donors.

Leading a high-impact team and is a strong team player, the candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the development and execution of bespoke programmes and initiatives to support the philanthropy advisors. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of leading strategic philanthropic initiatives, with extensive experience in collaborating with stakeholders across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively exercise creativity, foresight, and judgment in planning and bespoke philanthropy advisory services in a variety of philanthropic domains. This includes developing and implementing strategies, action plans and programmes to promote effective philanthropy in Singapore
  • Provide independent leadership on complex assignments and be able to guide 1-2 team members
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of advisory team’s needs to provide proactive, efficient, and expedient resources and support towards the collective growth of the advisory and solutions teams
  • Oversee the end-to-end grantmaking process for donors with bespoke advisory services provided
  • Stay informed about emerging trends/needs, research and innovations in the fields of sustainability and social impact to continuously build pipeline of philanthropic opportunities and evaluate effectiveness of programmes/solutions funded by donors

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Masters-level qualifications in business, social sciences, public policy/health preferred
  • Domain knowledge/expertise on one or more of the following sectors will be an advantage – environment/sustainability, economic, social, health and care needs and the philanthropic sector
  • Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a range of audiences, stakeholders, funders and partners
  • Ability to work under own initiative with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management, with the ability to develop and manage budgets for philanthropic initiatives
  • Strong ability to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements
  • Able to strive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment as an independent contributor with limited resources
  • Ability to write and present clear and concise reports independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (such as PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Core competencies in grantmaking and grant management
  • Manage, lead and motivate teams, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities effectively to achieve organizational goals
