Main Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking an accomplished and highly service- oriented individual to join us as our Hygiene Officer for the Resort. Joining as part of Mandai Rainforest Resorts by Banyan Tree’s pre-opening team, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained across the resort’s facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, restaurants, and recreational areas.
This role plays a crucial part in providing our guests with a safe, comfortable, and healthy environment during their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Hygiene Standards: Oversee and enforce the resort’s hygiene policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist with the implementation and monitoring of health and safety protocols in the resort.
- Food Safety and Regulation. The role will be encompass overseeing the necessary food safety and governance procedures to ensure that we follow all regulated standards. This includes but is not limited to monitoring chiller temperature control and dry store food Control, Control of dry store food rotation etc.
- Monitor Cleanliness: Conduct regular inspections of all areas within the resort, including guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and common spaces, to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met. Perform routine audits and checks of all sanitation practices, including cleaning logs, food safety standards, and waste management.
- Training & Development: Train housekeeping and food & beverage staff on proper hygiene and sanitation practices, including the use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure that the resort complies with local health regulations and industry best practices. Prepare reports on hygiene-related activities and incidents for senior management.
- Waste Management: Supervise waste disposal procedures and ensure proper waste segregation, collection, and storage according to environmental and health standards.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, sanitation products, and personal protective equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained and replenished as needed.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in a hygiene or housekeeping role, preferably in a hospitality or resort environment. Pre-opening experience would be useful.
- In-depth knowledge of hygiene standards, cleaning protocols, and health and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
