Within CIB, the Modelling &Analytics Group ('MAG') is accountable for design, development anddelivery of real-time pricing models, risk models, and coreinfrastructure, enabling pricing, market data, intra-day riskreporting capability, and portfolio level analytics includingreporting and capital computation.

The role ofQuantitative Analyst, will work in London, focusing primarily uponmodel development activities for equity derivative pricingmodels.

KeyResponsibilities
  • Working with traders, sales, structurers and othermodellers to execute product development plans in line withbusiness priorities.
  • Awareness of theeconomic, market and regulatory environment in which FM operates,especially as regards model and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain models for the pricing and riskmanagement of equity derivatives products.
  • Delivery of model documentation and testingmaterial.
  • Improving and maintaining existinganalytics.
  • Research into alternative modelsand numerical techniques as well as ongoing assessment of modelspublished in industry or academic literature.
  • Provide day-to-day support for relevant businessunits.
  • Provide mentoring and advice to morejunior members of the team
  • Develop andmaintain models and risk scenarios for the pricing and riskmanagement of products across the Equity desk. Providetroubleshooting, advice and resolution of any issues arising inProduction with suitable updates to the analytics. Provide adviceto Trading on the behaviour, assumptions, methodology and risks ofthe underlying models
  • Ensure models aredeveloped and maintained in-line with the applicable policies andstandards.
  • Comply with the Operational RiskFramework.
  • Proactively support theimplementation of the Group Model Riskpolicy.

Our IdealCandidate
  • Strongacademic qualifications including a first degree, plus a Master'sor PhD, in a quantitative subject (Mathematics, FinancialMathematics, Physics, Engineering)
  • Strongacademic qualifications in a quantitative subject (e.g., FinancialMathematics, Master's or PhD)
  • 5 years ofexperience developing/validating financial markets equities/creditpricing/risk models in an international bank. Understanding andawareness of best practices, market standard approaches and novelmodelling techniques.
  • Good knowledge ofnumerical methods, stochastic calculus, and probabilitytheory

  • Strong Communication skills
  • C++programming (essential)
  • Knowledge offunctional programming (e.g Haskell) is a plus
  • Competency in pricing modelling andresearch
