Roles & Responsibilities

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior FX & Rates Trader to lead and play a pivotal role in expanding our Capital Markets trading capabilities in Singapore. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in FX, Fixed Income, and Derivatives trading to shape the strategy, infrastructure, and growth of our trading activities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and the leadership skills to drive team performance and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the setup and growth of the FX & Rates trading desk with a focus on fixed income, FX swaps, and derivatives.
  • Develop and execute high-level trading strategies to maximize profitability and identify arbitrage opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to enhance electronic trading capabilities and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Partner with quant teams to develop internal models and trading products, leveraging advanced data analytics.
  • Provide insightful trading views, commentaries, and ideas to internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, counterparties, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory developments, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective risk management frameworks.
  • Mentor, recruit, and lead junior traders, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
  • Oversee documentation, reporting, and performance analysis of trading desk activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA/Master’s) are a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in FX, Fixed Income, and Derivatives trading within Capital Markets.
  • Proven track record of profitability and success in developing trading strategies.
  • Prior experience in setting up, leading, or expanding a trading desk is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of arbitrage methods, trading workflows, and risk management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, including technology and quantitative research.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific experience in building trading infrastructure and enhancing electronic trading capabilities.
  • Familiarity with capital markets products and regulatory requirements in Singapore and globally.
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics, modeling, and quantitative tools.
  • Experience collaborating with technology teams to enhance trading platforms and processes.
